Auditions are open to the public and anyone may audition regardless of experience. 

*    PPTOPA is a non-profit, community based, theatrical organization and actors are NOT compensated for appearances.

Non-musical Guidelines - Prepare a one minute comedic and one minute dramatic monologue.  Be prepared to read cold from script; sides will be provided. 

Musical Guidelines - Prepare 16 measures of an upbeat and 16 measures of a ballad in your key. The selection may be from the musical you are auditioning for, however, is not required.   Choose a piece you are comfortable with and one that shows off your strengths  Sheet music is required; CD's or a capella will NOT be permitted.  Be prepared to read cold from the script.

Tuesday, August 19th & Wednesday, August 20th 7:00 - 10:00 pm -Auditions for:  Bet, Charlotte and Noah, All Adult Roles, Chorus (including street Vendors) and dancers, other teenage roles
Saturday,  August 23rd  10:00 am - 2:00pm - Auditions for the following youth roles:  Fagin's Gang, Workhouse Children, Oliver and Artful Dodger
Monday, August 25th - 7:00pm - Callbacks

Oliver Twist (Boy Soprano, 9-13, under 5'0" required )
A remarkably pious, innocent, charming workhouse boy. Small for his age.
Fagin (Baritone  40+)
A conniving career criminal training homeless children to pick pockets for him in return for shelter. Taught Bill Sykes but now fears him.
Nancy (Alto 25-40)
A career thief and former child pickpocket, but noble and likeable. Wise beyond her years.
The Artful Dodger (Tenor 11-15, cockney accent, under 5'0" required)
The cleverest and most charming of Fagin's pickpockets. Talks and dresses like a grown man although he is undersized.
Mr. Bumble (Baritone,  45 - 60)
The pompous, self-important beadle. Preaches Christian morality, but behaves without compassion toward the paupers under his care. Chubby.
Widow  Corney (Soprano,  35 - 50)
The matron of the workhouse. A hypocritical, callous, domineering and demanding widow.
Bill Sykes (Baritone  30-45)
A brutal, menacing professional burglar brought up in Fagin's gang.
Bet (Alto,  13- 20 )
One of Fagin's child pickpockets, idolizes Nancy.
Mrs. Bedwin (Soprano, 45-60)
Mr. Brownlow's kindhearted, motherly housekeeper.
Mr. Sowerberry (Baritone  40-50)
The undertaker to whom Oliver is apprenticed.
Mrs. Sowerberry (Soprano , 35 - 50)
Mean, judgmental, henpecks her husband.
Charlotte Sowerberry (14 - 17)
The Sowerberrys' daughter
Noah Claypole (17-25)
A charity boy and Mr. Sowerberry's apprentice. A cowardly bully.
Mr. Brownlow (non-singing, 50+)
A well-off, compassionate, sensible, gentleman who turns out to be Oliver's grandfather.
Street Vendors (may be doubled with other parts): Strawberry Seller (Soprano), Rose Seller (Soprano), Milk Maid (Mezzo/Alto), Knife Grinder (Baritone/Bass), Long Song Seller (Baritone).
Other Adult Characters: Dr. Grimwig, Chales Bates, Old Sally, Old Lady, policemen;Paupers Assts (Teenage Boys);
Other Youth Characters  ages 6-14Workhouse children & Fagin's gang (both under 5'0" required), Charley Bates 
Dancers:  Seeking 6 Male and 6 Female dancers for featured routines - no singing required

All Children must be accompanied by an adult to auditions.  Thank you!
